The project

The year is 1478, the climax of the Italian Renaissance in Florence. The Medici have come into possession of a parchment that is highly incriminating to the church and they plan to reveal it during a grand masked ball. The Church infiltrates the masquerade with its spies and tries to destroy the scroll, while their hosts prepare to expose them.

The game is played with 4 players divided into 2 teams. Each side has a distinct objective, the Church must steal 2 keys from prominent guests and reach the unlocked scroll.

For the Medici, the goal is to protect the scroll. To do this, there are 2 solutions. The first one is to unmask the Church's spies. The second one is to delay them long enough until the end of the ball so that they cannot get the scroll.

My work

Being our first project at Rubika, none of us had a specialty, so I was a fairly generalist Game Designer.

  • World Build

    • Creation of our fantasy inspired by historical facts.

    • Researching important characters of the time that could be used in our game.
